Templates and Weaving

The Template Explorer in Sheetloom is where you weave your templates to automatically copy the latest data into your spreadsheet. Templates have already been built and uploaded by your Administrator and are ready to be utilized by you.

Groups​

During account creation your Administrator will have assigned you to one or more groups. You can see these groups displayed along the top of the Templates page as group folders.

Templates available to you are stored in these group folder; templates for the group you are currently in are displayed on the page.

When you land on the page, you will automatically be in the default group folder “my-company-name-users”. Click on a group folder to switch between groups to view your other templates. Note that if you are only in one group, no other group folders will display.

Weaving​

To generate a new sheet from a template:

  1. Log into Sheetloom. By default, you will be directed to the Templates page. If you are not on the Templates page, click on the link in the navigation bar.
  2. Click on the appropriate group to locate the template you want to weave.
  3. Click on the triangular "weave" button.

Sheetloom begins and a first notification appears to inform you that a check is underway to establish if any parameters are required:

If a parameter is not required, a second notification will then be displayed to inform you weaving is executing.

A weaving completed notification is displayed when the process has finished.

If a parameter is required, a parameters dialogue box appears after the first notification.

Add the value required. In the example shown, the user is required to provide the name of the customer they want to filter on. Once you have entered the values hit the weave button to continue.

As before, a second notification appears to inform you weaving is now executing. A weaving completed notification is displayed when the process is finished.

If weaving is unsuccessful, a notification message will display giving a brief explanation why it failed.

Downloading Woven Sheets​

After the Weaving process is complete, a notification will appear. Click on it to download the woven sheet. The filename includes the date and time weaving took place to make it easier to track.
